In some rare cases, our support team may ask you generate a "bug report" on your WearOS device. This process generates a file that can be used by our engineering team to investigate the issue in more details.
To generate a bug report, please follow the steps below:
1. Enable "Developer Mode" on your watch
On WearOS 2 watches:
- Open the Settings app
- Go to System, then About
- Scroll to and tap the Build number version 7 times
- A message that confirms Developer options have been activated should be displayed
On WearOS 3 (e.g. Galaxy Watch 4)
- Open the Settings app
- Go to About
- Scroll to Software
- Scroll to and tap on the Software version number 7 times
- A message that confirms Developer options have been activated should be displayed
2. Enable the bug report option in your app list
- Open the app list menu on the watch
- Go to "Developer tools" option that was just enabled at the previous step
- Scroll to and enable "Bug report in menu"
- Return to the app list menu
- A new icon will be present, tapping on it will trigger the bug report
3. Get the bug report file, and send it to our team
After seeing an issue you'd like to report, just go to the app list and tap the bug report icon you enabled in the previous step.
Once the bug report is ready, you will see a notification on the phone and/or watch - tap on the notification to save or share the report.
IF the bug report complete notification is not triggered after several minutes, please follow these steps to access and share the report:
- Open the File manager app on your phone
- Go to Downloads
- The name format of the bug report will look like this: "wearable-bugreport-[date].zip"
Attach the bug report file to your support request and our team will investigate.
